Kitesurf trip to Dakhla, 7–14 July 2026: the practical guide

Published on July 11, 2026

A week of organised kitesurfing in Dakhla by the Kite-Wake-Surf section of Oxygène Stellantis, with supervised packages and limited places.

A group trip already under way on the lagoon

The July kitesurf trip organised by the Kite-Wake-Surf section of Oxygène Stellantis runs from 7 to 14 July 2026. At the time this guide was published, the week had therefore already started, but several riding days remain on the programme. The organiser presents Dakhla as terrain suited to progression thanks to its water free of big waves, its shallow areas and its summer wind statistics. This formula is aimed first at members covered by the association's scheme; it should not be confused with a course open to anyone arriving directly on site.

Who is this kitesurf week for?

The official page mentions packages designed for practising and progressing in a group setting. Beginners may be drawn to the shallow depth of parts of the lagoon, while more independent riders enjoy a vast riding area. Before any late request, however, check the minimum level, instructor availability, sports insurance and the rules on equipment. Someone who is not an Oxygène Stellantis member is better off browsing the schools and water activities in Dakhla listed in the guide.

Announced budget and points to check

The organiser quotes a cost of 900 to 1,000 euros excluding flights and subsidies, with a fixed allowance announced at around 300 euros depending on the member's situation. This amount alone is not enough to compare the trip with a mainstream offer: ask what is included in the accommodation, transfers, board, lessons, kite and board rental and on-water assistance. As the event is under way, a last-minute registration seems unlikely. The contacts published by the association remain the only reference for the real possibilities.

Preparing a summer session in Dakhla

Even at the height of summer, a suitable wetsuit can improve comfort during long sessions, especially when the wind picks up. Water-resistant sun protection, secured sunglasses, a bottle and a light windbreaker are also useful between sessions. It is wise to state your level without overestimating it and to ask for the partner centre's safety protocol. The tides change the launch areas and the available depth: session times must therefore remain the local team's responsibility, never an estimate found weeks earlier.

Planning the rest of your stay in Dakhla

Before booking, compare the total cost, the cancellation terms and the required level. To build a coherent stay, browse our full calendar of events in Dakhla, the accommodation, the restaurants and the activities. The lagoon centres can be far from town: confirm the airport transfers, the shuttles and the board arrangements before departure. A free day also lets you discover the White Dune, Dragon Island or the market without sacrificing the recovery needed for sports activities.
