A kite week in a more isolated setting

KBC is organising a Kite Event at OASIS212 Dakhla from 13 to 19 September 2026. The formula covers seven days, with six days of level-based lessons, one free-practice day, storage for personal equipment and a lycra. The announced price is 575 euros for the sports part. OASIS212 lies far from the city centre, in an environment focused on the lagoon and the desert; this location appeals to travellers seeking complete immersion, but it means planning the transfers and any outings. Bringing your own equipment or choosing the pool

Independent participants can store their own gear during the event. Those not travelling with their kites and board can add an F-ONE equipment pool, listed at 179 euros when we checked. Ask whether the harness, the bar and the wetsuit are included, which sizes are available and how the equipment is shared during the free phases. The announced insurance covers the equipment during lessons, but KBC recommends additional cover for independent training. Read the exclusions: an incident far from the instructor may not be treated like a breakage during a lesson.

Lesson organisation and your real level

The programme announces five to six hours a day, combining teaching and practice time. To be placed in the right group, describe concrete skills: assisted launch, body drag, waterstart, riding upwind, transitions or jumps. An independent rider must also know how to recover their board and apply a self-rescue procedure. If the wind exceeds roughly 25 knots or drops too low, the team can replace the riding with theory, equipment tuning or safety exercises. These alternatives are included and do not generate a credit, as stated in the event's conditions.

Confirm the accommodation, full board and airport shuttles in the final quote, because the price of the watersports event does not necessarily sum up the stay. Bring your medication, sun protection and essential small accessories: Dakhla's shops are not a few minutes' walk away. For a trip into town, book the transport in advance and pool the group's needs. Also keep a warm layer for the evenings and a personal torch. The isolation is part of the place's charm — as long as you do not discover after arriving that an essential service was not included.
