A week dedicated to wingfoil on the eastern shore

The KBC Wingfoil Event takes place from 16 to 22 August 2026 at the KBC Dakhla centre, right in front of the Hotel Dakhla Club. The event covers seven days, six of them training days of up to four hours a day plus one free-practice day. It welcomes all levels and provides high-end wingfoil equipment as well as an event lycra. The advertised sports price is 749 euros. The stated hours correspond to a group programme organised around the wind, not continuous private coaching; ask how the groups are formed before booking.

Included equipment and safety on the water

The package announces the wings, the board, the foil, the impact vest and the helmet. This inclusion makes air travel easier and lets surfaces be matched to the conditions, but it does not exempt you from an equipment check or from understanding the excess charges. Check the type of leash used, the right-of-way rules and the authorised riding area. A foil has a mast and rigid wings: keep a generous distance from other riders and never walk behind a board left in the water. Suitable foot protection may be recommended depending on the spot access.

Starting out or progressing: two different programmes

A beginner often starts with wing handling on land, riding a high-volume board and then discovering the foil. An intermediate rider works on controlled take-off, flight stability and transitions. State precisely what you can already do so the centre picks the right board. KBC caps the event at twelve participants and announces a maximum of six students per instructor, which remains a sizeable group for a technical discipline. Also confirm the teaching language, announced as English, if you need detailed explanations to absorb the instructions.

Alternative activities and recovery

If the wind is too light or too strong, the organiser plans theory, stand-up paddle, a fitness programme, an equipment presentation and self-rescue exercises. No credit is announced for these adapted days. Sports clothing and a pair of light shoes are therefore a useful addition to the suitcase. Between sessions, stay hydrated and watch for chafing on the hands.
