KBC Kite Event Dakhla, 9–15 August 2026: intensive lessons on the lagoon
Published on July 11, 2026
Seven days of kitesurfing at KBC Dakhla, including six days of intensive small-group training for all levels.
Six days of training in a group format
The KBC Kite Event returns to the eastern shore of the lagoon from 9 to 15 August 2026. The offer includes seven days on site, six of them training days announced at five to six hours a day, plus one free-riding day. All levels are accepted, but the event is currently presented mainly in German on some versions of the website. The group setting lets you share sessions and advice, while the teaching team shapes the content around the conditions. The stated hours are ambitious: they include independent practice time and do not mean six hours of private lessons each day.
Price, equipment and accommodation to clarify
The advertised sports price is 575 euros per person. Equipment rental is not included: a supplement gives access to a pool of kites and boards for the week. Accommodation is booked at the Dakhla Club, right next to the centre, but check whether it is part of the final basket or must be added separately. Also ask whether the harness, the wetsuit, equipment insurance during independent phases and transfers are covered. The Hotel Dakhla Club listing helps you picture the place before choosing a room.
How the different levels can progress
A beginner will work on kite control, safety procedures, the body drag and the first starts. An intermediate rider can consolidate riding upwind and transitions, while an independent rider will benefit from feedback on jumps and tricks. For the coaching to be useful, describe your level with concrete examples rather than a general label. The booking page in fact asks for your level and lycra size. If you do not understand German, confirm before paying that an instructor can genuinely support you in a language you master, especially for the safety instructions.
What happens if the wind is not suitable?
KBC specifies that on a windless day or with wind above roughly 25 knots, the team may offer theory, equipment training or self-rescue exercises. These alternatives are part of the programme and do not entitle you to a replacement voucher. This rule deserves to be understood before registering: a watersports event always depends on the conditions and no serious organiser guarantees continuous riding. So bring sports clothing, plan a quiet activity and use the opportunity to review the safety drills. Our activities in Dakhla page also gathers ideas off the water.
Planning the rest of your stay in Dakhla
Before booking, compare the total cost, the cancellation terms and the required level. To build a coherent stay, browse our full calendar of events in Dakhla, the accommodation, the restaurants and the activities. The lagoon centres can be far from town: confirm the airport transfers, the shuttles and the board arrangements before departure. A free day also lets you discover the White Dune, Dragon Island or the market without sacrificing the recovery needed for sports activities.
